Re: 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program
This is to notify you that Recovery Services of Northwest Ohio will further extend the date of suspension of the 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program.
I am working with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Other Providers around the State on protocols on how to safely provide this service while remaining compliant with recommendations of social distancing, and limit of number of people who can gather.
We will not conduct programming in May or June. I will be in contact at a later date as plans are finalized for a date to resume this service.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 419-782-9920, ext 117, or email@example.com.
Thank you for your cooperation, and Stay Safe!
Chief Executive Officer
The 72-Hour Driver Intervention Program (DIP) is a residential program for OVI offenders administered through Recovery Services of Northwest Ohio. The program educates individuals about the physical, psychological and social effects of alcohol and drug use and is designed to reduce the risk of future alcohol and drug abuse arrests. The program is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS).
The 72 Hour Driver Intervention program gives individuals an opportunity to examine thinking and behavioral patterns that led to their OVI arrest. It provides participants with the knowledge they need to make healthy future choices and with information on alcohol and drug abuse through lectures, videos, class work and group discussions.
Check-in for the program is at 5:45 p.m. on Thursdays. Individuals who arrive late will not be allowed to attend. The program concludes on Sundays at 5:45 p.m. Each day begins with a 7 a.m. wakeup call, with programming starting at 9 a.m. Participants must be drug and alcohol free to attend the program.
The Driver Intervention Program costs includes lodging and meals. Cash, Medicaid, and Visa or Mastercard are accepted. Payment must be received one week prior to attending the 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program. All bedding and towels will be provided, but participants must bring their own personal grooming products. You can request your own room for an additional fee. Individuals who need to reschedule their driver intervention must first contact the court. Once written confirmation is received, the 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program can be rescheduled. A $50 rescheduling fee applies.
No phone, cellular phone or television access is allowed during the 72-hour program.
A Defensive Drivers Course is provided to each individual during the 72 hour Driver Intervention Program. To receive the two-point license credit there is an additional cost of $100.
