Medication Assisted Treatment

The Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program is available at Recovery Services of Northwest Ohio! Along with intensive outpatient group and individual counseling, the MAT program is intended to help clients in treating addiction.

Good Candidates for the MAT program are clients who are:

  • Serious about pursuing sobriety and recovery through treatment
  • Willing to attend Sober Support meetings
  • Willing to follow treatment recommendations
  • Willing to engage in Group and Individual counseling
  • Willing to submit to random and observed urine screens

The following is a summary of the MAT program procedures: An assessment is completed by a staff person at Recovery Services at Northwest Ohio. If you are a good potential candidate the staff person will send a referral to the MAT team. The MAT team will discuss your assessment and all aspects of your medical and social history. The MAT team will then decide to refer your case to the doctor for Medication Assisted Treatment. You will then be called to schedule an orientation session with the MAT team. If the doctor decides that you are a good candidate the doctor will begin prescribing medication to you.

Depending on the results of the doctor’s assessment you could be prescribed Buprenorphine and Naloxone (Suboxone), Oral Naltrexone (ReVia), or Injectable Naltrexone (Vivitrol). For more information on these medications click here.

Throughout your treatment the MAT program rules recommend that you maintain abstinence from substances, attend treatment as recommended in your assessment and attend 2 sober support meetings weekly in your community.

We look forward to talking about treatment options with you! Please call to schedule an assessment with a staff member or walk in to any of our locations between the times of 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday.
